At a height of 2407 meters above sea is the peak of Profitis Ilias or Further Ilias, as the Maniots like to call it. It is the highest point of the Taygetos Mountains and of all the Peloponnese.

Standing on the top overlooking the West Mani you can see the Viros Gorge descending to the Messinian Bay through the mountain villages of Tseria and Exochori, ending at the village of Kardamili.

In one of the stone buildings on the main road of the traditional village of Kardamili, just oposite to the Post Office, are the shop and the base of the activity center of “2407 Mountain Activities”.

In our shop you can find the necessary equipment for hiking and biking and you can choose from a great variety of products and firms.

The four great gorges of the West Mani (Rindomo, Viros, Noupandi and Stepeni) and the complex of mountain and sea villages are connected with a web of paths and  area both of which our team of 2407 is fully familiar with.

Due to the Kalamata Airport, it is easy to access the area with Charter flights from UK, Germany, Holland and Norway and sceduled flights from Athens, Salonica and Heraklion from April until October. Also, now that the distance between Athens and Kardamili is reduced due to the new road, the West Mani is not just a classical destination for relaxing holidays, but also an easy place to escape to even for short trips.
